Graduate Placements Dashboard – MS AIBA (USF, 2023–2024)

Project Description:

Technologies: Tableau, Excel, Data Visualization, Exploratory Analysis

This dashboard was developed to analyze full-time placement outcomes for the MS in Business Analytics & Information Systems (AIBA) program at the University of South Florida, covering Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 graduates. The goal was to highlight top hiring roles, salary benchmarks, geographic placement trends, and demographic distributions.

I began by cleaning and validating raw placement records in Excel, ensuring consistent formatting of job titles, companies, and salary ranges. After exploratory analysis, the data was structured into Tableau to design an interactive visualization that allows stakeholders to explore hiring trends at multiple levels.

The dashboard showcases top job roles (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Business Analyst), highest-paying companies (Amgen, WildFork, CVS Health), and placement concentration by U.S. state, with Florida and Texas as leading destinations. A demographic view breaks down placements by gender across academic terms, providing insights into diversity within cohorts.

Tools & Technologies Used:

  • Tableau – Interactive dashboard design and visual storytelling

  • Excel – Data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation

  • Data Visualization Techniques – Role distribution, geospatial mapping, salary benchmarks

Key Insights:

  • Top Role: Data Analyst was the most common placement (9 hires), followed by Data Engineer (7)

  • Salaries: Highest reported offer was $160K at Amgen, with several firms offering above $120K

  • Geography: Florida and Texas emerged as placement hubs, together accounting for the majority of offers

  • Gender: Placement rates were higher for male graduates in both terms, though Spring 2024 showed greater female representation compared to Fall 2023
